Mr. Colton Clark is an instructional designer, a published researcher, and Ed.D. student in Instructional Design at National University’s Sanford College of Education, located in San Diego, California. 

    Having grown up between an analog childhood and a digital adulthood, Mr. Clark likes to combine compassionate instruction with interactive media to craft human-centered, engaging learning environments. His instructional design practices are guided by the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework plus the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG v2.1). Mr. Clark views digital accessibility and inclusivity as essentials for reducing cognitive load and supporting diverse learner groups (CAST, 2024; W3C, 2025). He assesses instructional media using a dual-axis model that combines the 'SAMR' model (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, Redefinition) (Puentedura, 2013) with Bloom’s taxonomy (1956), providing foundational support and fostering transformative student agency through critique, simulations, and complex problem-solving.

    This ePortfolio presents all of Mr. Clark's research and design projects, including his published work and practical initiatives “Mobile-First eLearning for Food Safety” and “From ‘Time-Crunched’ to Tech-Savvy”. Mr. Clark aims to translate educational theories into accessible, impactful learning experiences.
